2011-11-22 20:08 deepin LD is a distro based on Ubuntu, not Mint. ONLY the menu and upgrade are borrowed from Mint, sometimes, what you see is NOT what it is!

i am new here and recently installed the deepin 11.
there are a few quesitons about this deepin os.
1. i got dual cario docks after system booted. where can i check to make only one running?
2. is there any way that i can run no this dock software but still can see all my opened (running) applications? i closed it once and had to use alt+tab to switch active windows around. it is super not cool.
3. i am running LD in a fairly slow latptop. althouth it is working fine, but i still wonder if you guys have a tool to disable ALL fancey vision effects stuff. i tied to get rid of them. but, they are everywhere.
4. is there any way to see the boot process info? i can not see anything during boot process. the screen is totally black. switching tty has no help at all. if there is anything wrong, i am not able to do any troubleshoot. I take the dirty filesystem as an exmple.
5. wireless connection configration is reaaaly hard to use. the terms in that software is really confusing. the connect to network was grey out. i had to reboot a few times to get to it.
6. after system auto log in, there always is a windows popping up and asking for password. i chose it to remember what the password is. it keeps forgetting. it is a big disappointment. how can i find it and disable what it is going to do or let it really remember what i wanted it to do.
7. watching online shows (ctv.ca -> big bang theory) is horrbly slowwww. but youtube is fine.
if screenshots are needed for future diagnostic, please let me know.
suggestions -
1. i've used linux mint before. comparing LD and mint, i can tell you are copying them. i am not saying copying is not right. what i am saying is get the spirits not the looks.
2. the default video play is useless, could you make others instead.
so, that is pretty much what i got so far.
any suggtions is appreciated,

As our team was quite small, while Mint realy did a great job, and we agreed on the looks they created, we copied their looks in the previous releases. Now, our team is growing quickly, we will create our own looks in the future releases, hope you will try them :-)
As for the problems you encountered,
1, you can check your startup applications to see if there are dup entries for cario dock
2, you can create another panel in the bottom, and add a window list applet to the panel
3, have you tried to config compiz settings?
4, hmmm, it's a difficult problem. it is mostly coursed by display card drivers. you can remove "splash" param from the grub entry. you will then see screenful of monsters during startup.
as for 5-7, wait for some others to help you.

i haven't tried your suggestions yet. but i will definitely give it a go.
to be honest, you DID a fantastic job in this version. i have tried your previous release in vm. it was good. but this is so far the best one for me. i do recognize that you guys have grown a lot in past few years.
i will keep you guys posted if the solutions work.
