Hello, I wanted to share a list of bugs and suggestions collected when using this OS.

Treeland:

  1. Window resizing on external apps is broken.
  2. Cursor theme changes between different windows.
  3. Apps don't have consistent window controls.
  4. Opening JDownloader2 shows white screen. (FIX: _JAVA_AWT_WM_NONREPARENTING=1 env. variable),
  5. Changing focus of applications randomly selects input method language.
  6. Dragging items to trash on desktop has a visual bug when the icon stays on mouse cursor.
  7. Context menus open in random places on some apps.

Text editor:

  1. Word wrapping doesn't work properly, entire words should jump to a new line.
  2. Text editor's about window has broken font size (on linyaps)

Control center:

  1. Animated wallpaper playback is glitching out

System:

  1. I'm unable to install steam because it depends on 32bit libraries that deepin has removed.
  2. I had to manually fetch drivers for 9070xt because deepin's mesa was too outdated.
  3. App Store front page has no local locaization

Suggestions:

  1. Liquid glass effect should be less transparent. Solid colors offer best clarity, maybe should go in the direction of material UI 3?
  2. Launcher should support alternative keywords. Consider merging global search into launcher (like Gnome).
  3. English localization needs a major rework.
  4. Please implement autoscroll support!!
  5. Adopt Windows-style keyboard shortcuts. For example: Ctrl+number to change tabs.
  6. Switch entirely to either Linyaps or Deb packages in App Store, because users generally don't know what is the difference between apps.
  7. Widgets would be cool like in HMOS.
  8. Deepin apps and desktop icons have way too little space for displaying words in English.
  9. Slow down animated wallpapers.
  10. More drag-n-drop areas for file manager and dock.

Generally I would reccomend to bring back telemetry. Deepin is buggy, apps crash randomly and behaviour sometimes feels off. Non-intrusive, opt-out model like in Firefox would be a good compromise imo.
