With the recent development of Treeland and dde-shell, window management has improved significantly. To further enhance multi-tasking and productivity, it would be highly beneficial to implement an advanced drop-down window snap layout system.
Proposed Behavior:
When dragging a window to the top-center area of the screen, a drop-down layout grid panel should appear showing various arrangement choices (such as halves, thirds, and quarters).
The user can then drop the window into one of these geometric zones to snap it instantly.
This behavior could also be triggered when hovering over the window's maximize button.
This layout grid would fit perfectly with the new DDE shell architecture and make window organization much faster for power users. Thank you for considering this enhancement!
