Hello Deepin Community,

We are writing to ask for help. We love Deepin 25 and want to stay on this OS, but we are stuck with a networking issue.

We need to use ProtonVPN for privacy/security, but it refuses to connect:

  • We tried the official Debian/Ubuntu .deb package (GUI app): It shows "disconnect" or fails instantly.
  • We also tried the terminal version (protonvpn-cli) as a fallback: This also fails to connect.

Has anyone else successfully run ProtonVPN on Deepin 25? Since Deepin is based on Linux, perhaps there is a specific dependency, firewall rule (UFW), or NetworkManager setting unique to Deepin that blocks the connection?

Any logs we should check, commands to run, or workarounds you've found would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,
A loyal Deepin user

Hi, try installing Gufw Firewall and you'll be able to configure the connection rules.
