a day ago Good questions. Yes — it is quite plausible that Linyaps (the sandbox/container-style packager used by Deepin 25) is the root cause of why Arduino IDE V2 cannot see serial ports on your system — even though as a normal user you do have access to /dev/ttyACM* or /dev/ttyUSB*. Here’s a breakdown + where to get more info / how to debug. EZPassMA login

I would love to have Arduino IDE V2 working on Deepin 25. Well, the IDE works, and one can add additional board managers, compile programs, but the IDE cannot access the serial ports.
I already added my user to the dialout group. so I can do stuff like "cat /dev/ttyACM1" to see the messages of my embedded board, but from the Arduino IDE I cannot choose any serial port.
Is it something about the "containerization" of Linyapps? Where can I get more info about Linyapps and serial port access?
Many thanks.
