Introduction

GXDE OS is a Debian-based Linux distribution supporting amd64 and arm64 architectures. It features the deepin desktop environment from the deepin 15 era, continuously optimizes the desktop experience, and aims to deliver an elegant, stable, lightweight out-of-the-box experience – reducing the learning curve for beginners while saving time for experienced users.

The GXDE desktop environment is built upon Deepin Desktop Environment (DDE), with components open-sourced under their original upstream licenses (GPL/LGPL).

Upgrade Guide from Version 15

Note: The upgrade tool is still in testing and cannot guarantee coverage of all scenarios. Currently only recommended for users familiar with Linux command-line operations. Will be rolled out to all users after testing is complete.

• Use the system updater to update to the latest 15.15u2 version and reboot
• Install the GXDE 2025 Upgrader from the App Store:

• Ensure stable network connection and power supply before executing the upgrade. The process typically takes 30-60 minutes depending on network speed and disk performance
• Updates for GXDE installed via Tiny Computer/Termux require submitting requests to the Tiny Computer upstream for new APK versions
