deepin Community Product

deepin 25 Development Progress

Since the release of deepin 25 Preview, users has responded enthusiastically by actively participating in testing, providing feedback, and submitting bug reports. Through user interview, we have gathered numerous improvemnet suggestions and bug reports, all of which have been categorized in the development priority roadmap.

By the end of February, the team identified 418 high-priority bugs, with 210 already resolved. The development team is now focused on addressing the remaining issues and plans to release the deepin 25 Alpha version by mid-March. During the interview, the community product manager also announced the version planning, clarifying development milestones and goals for transparency.

We will continue to prioritize user feedback to refine the product experience and present the more polished deepin 25 to the community.

deepin 23 Updates

In February 2025, deepin 23 received 4 updates (3 in the internal testing channel and 1 in the stable channel), focusing on security enhancement, kernel and core component upgrades, and critical fixes for compatibility issues with WeCom (Enterprise WeChat), multimedia stability, and high-frequency user interaction problems. These updates further optimized productivity and entertainment experiences.

UOS AI Integrates DeepSeek

The community product UOS AI has successfully integrated the DeepSeek large language model, offering users flexible deployment options: local offline deployment and online API access, significantly improving the usability and responsiveness of AI tools.

The update has attracted widespread attention and active participation from the community. Users are enthusiastically exploring the new features, sharing experiences, and providing feedback, fostering a vibrant technical exchange environment.

Deepin Home

In February 2025, Deepin Home received 190 bug reports and feature requests submitted by users, including:

• 35 feature requests: 2 completed, 6 accepted, and 6 acknowledged with responses.

• Updated dual-line kernels to 6.6.79 (HWE) and 6.12.13 (Rolling).
• Added uncore-frequency control support for Intel Kaby Lake (7th Gen) and newer platforms to improve energy efficiency and performance.
• Optimized STMMAC performance (commonly used on LoongArch and Phytium platforms).
• Enhanced MediaTek Bluetooth and wireless network card stability.
• Streamlined ARM platform configurations.
• Fixed S4 wake-up failures on ARM and LoongArch platforms.
• Added support for Loongson 3C6000 platforms.
• Resolved touchpad issues on some Loongson 3A6000 laptop models.
• Integrated upstream fixes for Intel platform support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, I2C, and scheduler.

• Fixed multi-language support issues in Control Center.
• Added visual "crowding" effects during launcher drag-and-drop in free-sort mode.
• Enhanced launcher search with polyphonic character support.
• Fixed notification bubbles that occasionally failed to disappear.
• Resolved style and behavior issues in Control Center modules (Bluetooth, Network, Updates).

• Corrected HWMon driver calculations for processor package counts.
• Enabled MSI support for PCIe Port H.
• Fixed PCI device access failures in low-power modes.
• Fixed frequency refresh issues in the CPU scaling driver.
• Addressed DWMAC driver reset timeout errors.
• Fixed boot issues on BPI01001 firmware ("Old World" v2) lacking _DMA methods.
• Merged all platform fixes from upstream kernels 6.7 to 6.14.

deepin Community Ecology

In February, the deepin App Store conducted nearly 300 app review tests, successfully publishing 162 apps (41 new, 121 updated). Key updates include iterative upgrades for WeChat, WeCom, and GIMP to enhance user experience. Members of the App Store Ecosystem Collaboration Group actively promoted adaptations, including updates and Linglong conversions for Cherry Studio and Chatbox multi-model AI assistants.

deepin Community Forums

In February, the deepin forum saw 764 new posts, 4,548 replies, and welcomed 669 new members.

Global Community Development

The Ecuadorian branch of the deepin community continues to promote the localization of deepin in South America. Among them, the Killa OS Project (Kichwa Translation Project) initiated by the community has gained significant progress. The project has not only gained great attention and support from the local government, but also completed the legal certification process in the city hall, and has recently gained the hardware support from the mobile lab. Next, the lab will fully deploy the deepin operating system, which will provide a solid guarantee for the subsequent development and promotion of the project.
