The eighth Issue of deepin Biweekly Technical Report has been released, we will briefly list the progress of various deepin teams over the past two weeks and outline the general plan for the next two weeks!

DDE (deepin Desktop Environment)

Requirements development for deepin 25 has been completed, and the current phase is focused on bug fixes for deepin 23 and deepin 25.

Progress

  • Further improve the adaptation support for Treeland;
  • Fix several Qt and DDE issues discovered during the Wayland adaptation process.

Plans

Prepare for the release of DDE 7.0 with the deepin 25 Preview.

System Development

Progress

  • PipeWire supports mono audio settings;
  • Binutils LoongArch64 architecture merges a large number of upstream patches, fixes several errors, and adds TLS-related features;
  • GCC 12 LoongArch64 architecture merges a large number of upstream patches and fixes several errors;
  • Reprepro repository management tool updates to fix SHA512 calculation errors;
  • Fcitx5 updates to upstream version 5.1.11, Golang-1.22 updates to version 1.22.6, NCNN updates to version 20240820;
  • New Incus series software packages, new f2fs-tools, new uml-utilities, new mvdsv ktx series software packages added;
  • BlueZ update to solve Bluetooth device connection issues on some models;
  • Updates for CVE security vulnerabilities.

Plans

  • Software package updates;

  • Updates for GVFS series components.

Treeland

Progress

  • Optimized window selection for screenshot and screen recording;
  • Optimized display effects of window animations and shadows;
  • Optimized HiDPI display for workspaces;
  • Optimized mouse drag and drop functionality;
  • Optimized the strategy for updating focus on new windows;
  • Fixed crashes caused by some Xwayland windows;
  • Fixed crashes caused by multi-screen setups.

Plans

  • Support for random wallpapers in workspaces.

Linux Kernel

Progress

  • The base kernel version has been upgraded to 6.6.66;
  • Synced some Intel audio support improvements from the 6.8 to 6.11 branches to support new platform devices;
  • Synced some commits from the upstream main branch;
  • Merged the RAID card driver from Zongcun Technology.

Plans

  • Advance support for the SG2042 kernel.
