●deepin 25 version planning released

In September, the deepin 25 version planning was officially confirmed and released. The main goal is to fix the legacy issues in deepin 23, improve system stability, and complete the functional pilot of technology upgrade (Treeland).

● deepin 23 update

This month, the internal test was updated 4 times, 16 new features were added, and 77 issues were fixed;

●deepin Home

In September 2024, Deepin Home received a total of 316 user bug and demand feedback:

Among them, there were 237 bug feedbacks, 79 demand feedbacks, 14 fixed, and 32 confirmed system bugs;

The fixed bugs include user feedback such as [the startup menu of the general settings in the control center turned black], [app store review abnormalities], [clipboard window background blur abnormalities], etc.

2. Community International Influence

●deepin Ecuador branch community officially established

In September, deepin took another solid step in the internationalization process, marking another important breakthrough in deepin's globalization.

●deepin French branch community officially established

Following the establishment and launch of the deepin Ecuador community, the deepin French community was also officially launched, which is another important milestone in deepin's internationalization strategy.

●deepin community overseas site Kichwa translation project has made important progress

The Kichwa translation project of the deepin Ecuador branch community has made important progress. It has successfully completed the legalization process of KillaOS at the city hall and launched the project page: httpsy/deepinlatkichwar. The project was renamed KillaOSProject.

SIG Updates in September:

●deepin-ports SIG:

1. Adapted the codecs of th1520 and eic7700, and updated the corresponding kernels;

●deepin-sysdev-team:

1. Cooperated with various SIGs to continuously maintain and update the repository software packages;

●DDE SIG:

1. Fixed several defects in deepin 23 versions;
2. Specially rectified the Application Manager (AM) to solve various problems of inaccurate taskbar application grouping/icons;
3. Modified the design of some modules of the deepin 25 control center, and adjusted some requirements for the launcher and taskbar;
4. Migrated the launcher to a pure DDE Shell Plugin (in progress) solves the problem of incorrect launcher position in multi-screen situations, and facilitates the complete splitting and replacement of launcher components when necessary.

●dde-port SIG:

1. Continue to promote the porting of DDE in various distributions

●deepin-kernel SIG:

1. Start to promote RISC-V standard kernel support, with a preliminary plan to support Suanneng SG2042;
2. Update the kernel code baseline to 6.6.52;
3. Add support for Muchuang Integrated Circuit's n500 and n210 network cards;
4. Fix the problem that the temperature monitoring driver of the Haiguang platform does not correctly check the return value.

●deepin-raspberrypi SIG:

1. Complete and release the image compilation adapted to deepin 23 version

4. Community Ecology

In September, the App Store completed more than 1,300 application review tests and launched 864 applications, including 761 new applications (including Linyaps and deb) and 103 application updates. As of the end of September 2024, the App Store has successfully launched more than 2,000 Linyaps applications.

In addition, members of the App Store Ecology Co-construction Group have also completed the adaptation of many small games, greatly enriching the ecological entertainment scenes of the community. At the same time, they have also added a number of open source small applications including "ScreenPen" and "Lepton", and more than ten AI applications have also completed the adaptation of the deepin 23 system.

Everyone is welcome to submit applications through the deepin community to jointly maintain and enrich our community application ecology.

5. Community Activities

● The 21st International Software Freedom Day (SFD)

In September 2024, the 21st International Software Freedom Day (SFD) was held around the world, and the deepin community was invited to participate in the exchange activities held at Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications. As a guest speaker, Xiang Zelong, a system development engineer of the deepin community, shared the keynote speech "From Student to Open Source Community Maintainer - The Road to Free Software from Use", telling how he gradually became a maintainer of an open source community from a student.

6. deepin forum

In September, the deepin forum published 12021 posts;

A total of 1486 posts were published;

More than 900+ new friends joined the deepin forum.
