Hi, I'm not sure I get you correctly. as a chinese native speaker, we use tone rarely in typing, anyway, if you indeed want to use it, my suggestion is use specific text editor like word, markdown etc.

2022-04-12 17:38 OK. I just tried to use this method to input chinese chars, like 这样. However, it seems like the only function is that the keyboard only supports latin characters.
May you add Sunpinyin input method in the method list, and enable it.

Pinyin IME won't add tones in the typein area. It will guess what tone you are trying to use.
If you are trying to input Chinese characters, just ignore it.
If you are trying to input Pinyin with tones, you can use libre/WPS office or markdown.
Or you can try this
https://www.aies.cn/pinyin2.htm
It can generate pinyin from characters

Hello everyone. I'm sure this is a very simple task, but I cannot seem to figure this out. I would like to know how I can input Pinyin characters with tone marks.
I have added "Hanyu Pinyin (altgr)" to my keyboard input methods, however I only see the usualy latin characters. I don't know how to type the characters with pinyin tone marks included. Thanks.
