Many Linux users  consider telemetry as something very bad because it`s used for spying and selling data.  But freedom ideology could turn this really bad thing into something helful for distro developers. It would be great to have an app that allows to send fully open reports that user can check and control. Of course if it won`t help development there is no reason to spend time on it.

What do you think?

It`s too obvious, don`t you think? If Mac was fully open, Darling project would be already finished, but Mac isn`t open at all.
And about Windows... it`s just 100% spyware that kills your hard drive by instant rewriting your personal data and sending it to Spysoft. Just read EULA, they can do whatever they want and you agree with it because you said "yes". You have an illusion that you can say "no" to spying but in EULA said that your "no" is a recommendation and they still can and will do whatever they want.
