Q: Why the system does not auto-mount Win partitions?
A: The reason is auto-mount frequently results in failing to boot. Win 8/Win 10 enables "Fast Startup" by default, which will cause boot failure for Linux operating system. Thus it is not recommended to mount them by default.
Q: Why not enable keypad by default?
A: Due to some driver issues, some computers will be unable to use keypad after booting.
Q: Why the system time is wrong in Windows (8 hours differ from the correct time)?
A: That is due to the difference in hardware standard time settings between Windows and Linux. Switching to UTC time in Windows can solve this issue.

Q: How to uninstall an application?
A: Enter Launcher, right-click the application, and select uninstall.
Q: How to set wallpaper?
A: Currently, "Control Center——Personalization" is not featured with wallpaper adding (there will be). Please open the wallpaper with image view, then right click to set as wallpaper.
Q: Why there is no search in Launcher?
A: There is search in Launcher (without interface), directly input characters in Launcher interface to search.
Q: There is no suitable resolution.
A: Currently, we haven't optimized resolution for HiDPI screens, so there is no suitable resolution for them.
If your monitor is not HiDPI but still no suitable resolution, maybe it is due to graphics driver, it can not be solved for now.
Q: How to set environment variables?
A: We use lightdm as login manager, so set environment variables in "/etc/X11/Xsession.d".
Q: How to enable Wi-Fi hotspot?
A: Currently the system does not provide this feature, but not all network cards support this feature.
Q: Where is system update?
A: System update is in "Control Center——System Information".
Q: How to set mirror for the system?

Q: Why errors occurred when adding PPA?
A: deepin 15 and later editions are based on Debian, so it does not support Ubuntu-only PPA.
Q: Why I can not log in with the correct password and always goes back to login interface?
A: This issue can be caused by many reasons, please judge on your own: Type A: Configuration file went wrong. Please switch to TTY1 with "Ctrl + Alt + F1" in login interface. How to login with your account (touch input your password and enter, the password will not echo). How to execute:

Q: How to transfer files with Bluetooth?
A: Currently, this function is not provided in the system, and possibly will not be added in the future. It is slow to transfer files through Bluetooth, and of large power consumption. We plan to add LAN file transfer in our new file manager to solve this issue.
Q: How to connect to devices that need Bluetooth pairing code?
A: We are working on that.
Q: I have finger prints login on my computer, how do I enable it?
A: Due to driver issues, it is not supported yet.
Q: How to enable direct login as root? A: First of all, it is really dangerous to directly log in as root, even Linux experts would not do that. And there is not much difference between logging in as root and normal user, so in case of safety, we would not provide this feature.
If you need to run a software as root or change system settings, all you need is to add sudo in front of the command line.
Q: I have installed Windows and Linux, how to change the default booting system?
A: Please set in "Control Center——Boot Menu".
Deepin Applications
Q: After installing close source graphics card driver, Deepin applications (such as Deepin Movie) can not run, why?
A: The front-end interface of some Deepin Applications are coded in QML, which is not compatible with close source graphics card driver, thus results in failure, and there is no solution yet.
Q: Why I can't input password in Deepin Terminal?
A: For safety reasons, input password in terminal would not show, so just touch input and press enter.

Q: Why some applications (Windows applications) can not run by CrossOver?
A: Currently, CrossOver (Wine) can not perfectly run all Windows applications.
Q: Why there is no progress indication while copying files in file manager?
A: The progress indicating right button has been changed to the progress circle in the upper-right corner of the file manager. The current file manager is not developed by us, so we can not change it, please wait for ours.
Q: How to solve font missing in WPS?
A: Due to the copyrights of some fonts, WPS can not preinstall them. You can choose not to install them unless necessary.
Click here to solve the issue. But make sure you have copyright to these fonts (You only need to have an authorized Windows).
Q: How to install anti-virus program and firewall?
A: Due to the permission mechanism of Linux, very few virus can cause actual damage, common users can choose to not install anti-virus program or other safety software. If you want to install, you can check in Deepin Store.
Q: How to defrag disk?
A: Linux generates much less disk frags than in Windows, so it is unnecessary.
