I'm posting this in the hope it may help someone with the same problem that plagued my install of deepin 14 & 14.1
The problem was whenever I tried to install the installer gui would go wonky stuttering down the page and to the right then completely freeze the system the only way out was to hard reboot. After trying all the fixes I'd read about it would still happen every time.
The things I tried were...
Disabling quick boot in the bios
Changing from ide to ahci in the bios, to do this I had to update my bios.
Trying multiple usb sticks & iso writers, unetbootin, lili & deepins own.
Trying multiple variations of usernames & passwords.
Trying both the easy installer & The expert one.
None of this worked, at this point I was pretty sure the problem was to do with my graphics card.
I have the Asus at5iont-I deluxe motherboard which uses nvidia ion graphics chip on board.
Finally I reduced screen resolution to 800x600 immediately the mouse became more responsive & I was able to install. The installer gui still acted up bouncing around with odd graphics & bizarre colours but I was able to watch the progress bar move along.
So I now have deepin 14.1 installed & it's my favorite Linux distro
