2026-10-08 18:41 I have Deepin Linux running on three personal computers. One is an HP EliteDesk 800 G3 with an i5-6500T, 40 GB RAM (single-channel SODIMM 2100 MHz, 32 GB + 8 GB), and a 2 TB NVMe SSD. Another is an HP EliteDesk 800 G2 with a Pentium G4400, 8 GB RAM, and a 1 TB NVMe SSD. The third is a Lenovo T420s notebook with an i7-2640M, 12 GB RAM, and a 2 TB SSD.
When it comes to everyday work, all three systems feel almost equally fast. Of course, there are differences when launching applications such as GIMP. In those cases, the systems equipped with NVMe storage have a clear advantage. Other than that, however, I don't notice any real difference in day-to-day use.

I tested deepin 25 on an old ECS H61 motherboard with a Core i5-3470 and Intel HD 2500 graphics.
Even though this hardware is from around 2012, deepin 25 works surprisingly well on it.
I also experimented with ZRAM, reducing unnecessary services and some desktop effects to make the system lighter.
However, visual anomalies sometimes appear—as if the video were freezing—even though neither the CPU nor the GPU shows any spike; since this freezing relates to the RAM, I thought it worth mentioning, as it happens when the RAM experiences a sharp spike in usage.
