Dear deepin community friends,

The new deepin 25.2.2 update is here! This release brings multiple optimizations and bug fixes across Treeland desktop environment, DDE desktop experience, common applications, system updates, and system security.

From window management and touchpad gestures, to mouse interaction in games and 3D applications, to system upgrades, application compatibility, and security – this update further refines deepin’s daily usage, multi‑display, input interaction, and application runtime experience.

We welcome all deepin community members and open‑source enthusiasts to try out the new version, actively report any issues you encounter, and share your feedback and suggestions in the comments!

🚀 New Version Highlights

  • Treeland desktop experience comprehensively enhanced: Added window split screen, support for pointer‑constraints and relative‑pointer protocols to improve mouse interaction in games and 3D applications; introduced a new liquid‑glass visual effect; and optimized the way Electron applications run under Wayland, further boosting visual appeal and application compatibility in Treeland.
  • Treeland underlying technology continuously upgraded: Removed qwlroots dependency and upgraded to wlroots 0.20, aligning with the latest upstream version; fixed issues with XWayland, window animations, four‑finger gestures, drag‑and‑drop, multi‑display, and various crash scenarios, making Treeland more stable and maintainable.
  • DDE desktop interaction further optimized: Improved handling of shortcut keys and touch gestures, delivering more consistent operation responses across X11 and Treeland environments.
  • System and common application experience steadily improved: Fixed multiple issues in input methods, file manager, document viewer, music, downloader, calendar, screenshot/recording, image viewer, email, and other frequently used scenarios, enhancing daily stability.
  • Hardware compatibility further boosted: Fixed connection issues with certain MTK wireless network cards, and enhanced recognition and compatibility for select domestic GPU platforms, graphics audio devices, and LPDDR5X memory.
  • System updates and security continuously strengthened: Fixed multiple anomalies in system updates, the Pangolin system, and update services; also patched several security vulnerabilities in foundational components such as GLib, GStreamer, Ghostscript, curl, X.Org, and XWayland, further improving system stability and security.

Finally, Treeland (Wayland) is usable and, apparently, stable enough for everyday use. The visual refinement that DDE has brought to Treeland has once again elevated deepin to a prominent position in terms of visual design.
