Since the decision has been made to have an immutable system with read-only access that even root cannot overwrite, installing guest additions, like those from Virtualbox is no longer possible.

Here is my attempt and the results of trying to install the Virtualbox guest additions:

What are the alternatives or how can this be solved?

If this behaviour is unintended, this may be a bug. If it is, please let me know if I should report it.
