hi ... i have just installed deepin on one of my laptops after taking it for a trial on a VM

i am very impressed by the polished look and the simplicity

lovely distro ... congratulations

i have two questions ....

1. I thought 20.1 was based on Debian Buster but inxi tells me that it is based on debian unstable

System: Host: buffy-PC Kernel: 5.4.70-amd64-desktop x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 8.3.0
Desktop: Deepin 20.1 info: dde-dock wm: kwin_x11 dm: LightDM 1.26.0 Distro: Deepin 20.1
           base: Debian unstable

2. I have updated the system but my kernel is still a 5.4.xxx kernel ... shouldn't it be 5.8 xxx?

Thanks and happy new year to you all

no answers :(

i think i have answered it for myself ... i have version 10.02 rather than 10.10 ... the instructions tell me to upgrade via system upgrades but that does nothing

guess i will do a fresh install with the latest iso .... not what i was hoping for ... spent a few days configuring stuff

edit : i tried the 10.10 edition iso ... in advanced options, the 5.8 kernel install does not work ... don't remember the error message but it is immediate and aborts .... there may be some discussion about this but if there is. i can't find it

i really need to know if i am using debian unstable or buster 10.6 and how do i upgrade because the sugested channels do nothing and neither does the iso
