I received my new PC yesterday and wanted to install Deepin as a main OS. It installs without any problems with a live CD but as soon as I use the system, I get music playing in the background but no desktop at all. Just the mouse. I can see as well the 'shadow' of the dock but no icons. I thought my ISO was corrupted so I burned a new DVD at low speeds. Same issue. I also tried with a USB install. Same thing. (I re-downloaded new iso just to make sure). My new PC runs Ubuntu 18.10 fine at the moment but Deepin is unusable. I read a few posts about a similar issue but I have no way to start a terminal and if I try recovery mode, the problem persists.
I use a Dell Optiplex 7060 i7-8700 at 3.2ghz, 32gb ram, Integrated graphics (UHD 630). I don't think it is a performance-related issue.
Any ideas ? It would be appreciated since Deepin is the perfect OS !
Thank you,
Dominic
