JWM is a little window manager able to remember the look of the Deepin Desktop. It can be very usefull if your Deepin session doesn't work any more, else after restart! Restart again an commute in the light session manager to JWM and ...
... you can accede to all things being possible in commando line in the Deepin-Terminal (and more), all things also (according to the declaration in the Deepin first start presentation of the system!) ...

... but only if you did take precaution after installation to prepare your JWM (as it is not completely ready to use after installation).

What is to do (in Deepin 15.7) ?

Installation:

- install following (very light) set of applications:

sudo apt install menu jwm xli grun xfce4-appfinder
(the last one, a bit more heavy, but staying really light compared with other environments, is only recommanded! But it compense some kind that the Debian application «menu» does not show all applications in the Debian-menu : You have nothing to do to find the missing app's excepted invoque xfce4-appfinder!)

As you do that, you are using the Deepin desktop. Don't quit immediately (as, after installation, the terminal pre defined in JWM is wrong: there is no such terminal in Deepin. Your hands are bound as you can activite nothing to write a new file!) or return to the Deepin desktop to make the first changes!

Some details about JWM:

You find the JWM internet presentation here : http://joewing.net/projects/jwm/

and the JWM setting guide here: http://joewing.net/projects/jwm/guide.html

In Debian, JWM needs the Debian package "menu" (as well as 9menu for an other extremely light way mouse free window manager, named «ratpoison», also needs "menu") to works best.

After installation, you will find in /etc a new subdir named /etc/JWM and, in it, 2 files.
- system.jwmrc , the main file, where you make your changes (this file will never actualised any more by the system after the installation).
- debian-menu , an automatic (by the app menu) generated and supported file with the Debian menu.

Both are written in VERY STRICT code (don't forget to close your new definitions properly etc.)

Commented lines (inactive) look like following:

You can add such comment command where you will but observe if you exceede the limit of some already present commented lines block (that brings chaos!).

Some changes in the file debian-menu will be erased but the next installation. Trying to add icone links would be an heavy job probably for nothing excepted if you save your file and make the adaptation later manually...

Make the changes in /etc/JWM/system.jwmrc immediately !

and you have first start with JWM this beautiful desktop to look on. I also add the view on the detail of the JWM stray (you can place that where you want: let at the bottom or bring to be on top of the screen, or left or right, centered or not, auto-hidden or not. Changing one word is often enough!)

(change the name of the text file into: system.jwmrc !)
