I've been dealing with my wife's laptop for some time without any solution. Her laptop freezes when shutting down and at times at reboot. See screenshot attached. Please help!

My shouldn't have to be shutting down the laptop by going to the terminal. Does anyone know what the default shutdown config is so that I can check if it is the same?

I did not want to edit the grub for a force shutdown but since there hasn't been an acceptable answer, I did GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=”quiet splash acpi=force”
