Boot Menu Resolution in 4k display

Hello,
I got 4k display laptop (Lenovo yoga 15 IKB), the boot menu resolution is at 4k even if I reduce the resolution in grub at /etc/default/grub it gets resets to 4k resolution. How to make the grub resolution stay at the low resolution itself?
