Hi everyone,

I installed Deepin OS 15.5 on my MSI laptop. It worked perfectly, until I made the first update and rebooted. The Deepin logo shows up, then nothing happends. Ctrl+Alt+Del and Ctrl+Alt+F1 does not work.

Then, I used "nomodset" at boot, and here are the last lines of logs :
  1. Starting Samba NBM Daemon...
  2. [20.475059] NET: Registered protocol family 15
  3. [20.536713] Initializing XFRM netlink socket
  4. [FAILED] Failed to start Samba NMB Daemon.
  5. See 'systemctl status nmbd.service' for details.
  6. Starting Samba SMB Daemon...
  7. [OK] Started Samba SMB Daemon.
  8. [ *** ] A start job is running for Hold until boot process finishes up (Xmin Xs / no limit)
Copy the Code

Could someone help me please ?

Thanks !

I found a solution. 1. First, I downloaded version deepin-desktop-community-25.0.1-amd64.iso and put it on a flash drive created with Ventoy. 2. I booted the live CD (it's the first thing in the grub menu). "Try deepin." 3. While the live CD was trying to boot, I pressed Ctrl + Alt + F2 (to get to the console) and started typing sudo systemctl disable nmbd (note that it might kick you out of the console, so try to do this quickly). After that, my live CD booted and I was able to install Deepin. PS: I haven't tried this with version 25.0.10 yet; I'm too lazy.
