Why does Deepin have old software versions? I thought it was based on Debian Unstable, but I just installed Firefox 55 from the repository. I'm looking for a rolling release OS with new software versions. Am I missing something here?

"Rolling" doesn't means "rolling to the newest", it just means you can continuously upgrade your OS without re-installation.
If Firefox is all your concern, you can download it from Firefox's official site and rely on its automatic update.

We will try our best to keep up with the latest version in deepin store, while sometimes not in time.
We will make an update of this soon.
