    I am needing see my syslog, but I can see it under /var/log. Is it at another location? Thanks.

    sudo apt-get install rsyslog ,  and  you will  see it under /var/log

    thanks, man! While I was waiting I found journalctl! Now I'm learning how to use it. It is a good tool to read logs.
