Hello guys! I'm new to Deepin so I'm having some trouble to type in Japanse language. I need to switch between English and Japanese often but it looks like the process doesn't work as easily as in other Linux distros.

Could anyone help me? Thanks

Deepin installed Fcitx, can try to add Japanese input method in Fcitx, like Ubuntu.

Perhaps many more solutions can be found on Google

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install fcitx-mozc

Copy the Code

You can try the command above. But I'm not quite sure if it is suitable for you. I'm in China mainland.
Remember logout & login again after the installing finish.

Thank you for your answer but it didn't work. And I googled it for so long and haven't found an answer for Deepin, only for ubuntu and other distros. I think I'll abandon Deepin for this because I need to type japanese very often.

Perhaps you can try this :

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install fcitx

Copy the Code

And then, repeat the command on 3#.

Perhaps you can try this :

Those commands you told just install it fine but after I reboot and try to set keyboard to japanese nothing happens. It just keep typing as normal english.

I tried anthy configurations but no result. I think I'll try another OS.

I already tried to set system language to Japanese and then change the keyboard but it types like normal english. I've tried every single setting and tutorial I could find but nothing. that's a real bummer
