Why do you have to create a new partition to support dual boot?
If your machine is booted up with UEFI mode, all boot menu item is saved in EFI partition.
If it is booted with Legacy BIOS mode and partition table type of disk is msdos, only one bootloader program
is supported and which is written in MBR.
