I'm unable to use my machine after allowing a massive update of 1.5GB from the update center. All I can see after booting is a black screen. Everything just went blank after it tries to start X server / lightdgm. I can't Ctrl+Alt+Fx to get to the other tty. I tried to drop to root console on advanced GRUB menu but it keeps kicking me out of the shell to the resume menu.
