Hi. Just wondering if you are using the Deepin bootloader? If so, you can install the synaptic package manager and then go to and reinstall grub package, and then reboot and see if the problem still occurs. Might be worth a try. Good luck.

Go to Control Center - Default Applications - AutoPlay and change it off. That should be enought.

And DO NOT install Grub again. It's likely will mess your boot to another OS's you have installed.

@serenase Do you mean not to install Deepin grub again? I got kernel panic when I tried to install some other distro, I can't remember which one, it could be vanilla Arch. But then I went and reinstalled Apricity bootloader using live CD. I am not worried if I mess something up because I use this machine for testing only. So, if I understood you correctly, you are suggesting that I not do what @stevex says: reinstall Deepin grub?

I turned Autoplay off, rebooted the system, but that didn't change anything - the file manager window popped up again.

I just don't think problem is Grub. Deepin file manager is really new software and it still lacks lots of functions. Maybe try some more mature file manager like Nautilus instead? I personally can't work without, because Deepin file manager is missing Sushi like preview, Raw image support and stuff like that...

clox-- If all your other distros boot ok, I would not worry about using the Deepin bootloader. If you reinstall it, all it would do is give you the Deepin bootloader rather than the Apricity bootloader. I,ve done this several times without problems because I like the Deepin bootloader. It is a long shot, but I just thought changing to the Deepin bootloader might  possibly help with the startup issue. FYI: I, too, use the Apricity distro. Good luck.

No, I won't change the Apricity bootloader. At least for the time being...as I said I'm mostly using this machine to test distros and play with them. The thing is that I don't know why this pop-up thing happens in the first place. A mistery...

I, too, basically play with Linux distros, and I have encountered quite a few mysteries doing so. What fun! Good luck.

I installed Deepin file manager and got same behavior on Manjaro Deepin. It doesn't obey Control Center settings like AutoPlay, Theming etc. It's quite interesting  choice for default file manager, when it's clearly not ready... not even close. For new users that not good thing. Nautilus was default file manager of Deepin before, so it's best bet.

It probably would not fix anything, but might. I know next to nothing about the numerous processes that Grub must enact to boot the desktop, but there are several cases where reinstalling or updating Grub does rectify things, similar to the way rebooting fixes things.
