Hi Everyone!

I am unable to login using Deepin Graphical Login Interface using my Text Password.

If a switch to console (Ctrl+Alt+F1) and enter the password on the console login interface, I have can login to the system.

If I change the password (at the console) to a numeric password (such as 123456) and then switch to the Graphical Login (Ctrl+Alt+F7) I am able to login using this numeric password.

After login using the GUI, if I change back the password to the text password, and lock the screen, I am able to login back, but, if a reboot the system I get the same issue again.

It seems that my deepin may have any issue with text passwords at the GUI first login.

Can anybody help me?

Thank you in advance,

Daniel Costa

Hei there!

I had the same issue today. After hours of googling and tryouts I found only this to work:

  1. sudo dpkg --configure -a
Copy the Code

and followed the steps.

Anyway I encountered this problem only after using
  1. dist-upgrade
Copy the Code
command. I guess there are some problems with the repositories because there are several errors when trying to upgrade to the last bit of the last version. What is odd thought is that I got this issue only on one of my 2 desktops I have deepin installed on.

The next days I will try to fix the issues.

Good luck!

Hi,

Thanks for your reply but when I try to reconfigure using "sudo dpkg --configure -a" nothing happens (that is good since there is nothing pending configuration).

I usually use dist-upgrade, but I am not able to relate this issue with the dist-upgrade command.

Any other suggestion?

Thanks,

Daniel Costa

Hei

It definitely has to do with the dist-upgrade problem. It was the same for me and I still didn't manage  to install it to the end.

I recommend you to:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo dpkg --configure -a

and you will manage to log in and take it further from there.

I found that when I try to use XDM instead of LIGHTDM, I am unable to enter my username since my Keyboard seems to be not well configured.

It seems that Deepin change the keyboard layout to the corret after login.
