GNU/Linux with a beautiful user experience, this is what we need!

My fav of all terminals I tried and I have tried lot of them.

Wow! Usually i don't pay attention to the post about "beautifuling", but i must say that this BEAUTIFUL. Simply, I'm loveling  this new fashioned terminal, and want it now!

This actually looks amazing. Wondering that when this terminal would be shipped?

Also is there a tutorial on how to install this terminal as an app?  I am able to pull it from github and make. However every time I would have to start another terminal and then run ./main to start it... Any tutorials will be greatly appreciated ! Thanks

The terminal 2 is very new. when compile, you will get only the more basic. But already you can go seeing that it is coming good.
first, go to your home from a terminal
if you do not have git, install it:


Next, clone the git repo:


Next, compile it:

Now, you can run the new preview of deepin terminal (the binary file is main, and is inside deepin-terminal directory; but you are in this directory, so) run:

A lot of mistakes. Of the latter,

sudo apt install libfontconfig1-dev

In debian, use below command to install dependencies:

Thanks a lot for the recommendations. Yes, I am able to get the source code, compile and run the ./main. The issue is that I am trying to make it a standard terminal application on my desktop, which means that  I would want to treat this as a standard terminal application. (just like the old deepin terminal, where you can place a desktop icon somwhere and double click it to launch) Wondering that if you have a pointer on this?

I'm literally in love with Deepin OS.....used elementary OS, Ubuntu, Kali linux, Mac but only Deepin has the most fluid and attractive UI....its simply awesome

Have you tried install any power saving tools like TLP or laptop-mode-tools?

Excellent terminal, faster than v1.0, and better looking overall. However, the Quake mode (drop-down terminal) which I prefer to use as my standard terminal is bit crippled: no option to fully customize width or height or to start in full screen. Also no access to settings, functions and hot keys in right-click menu in Quake mode. Please improve it. Other than that, excellent job! Thank you.
