To drawing, Inkscape is good.
For backup, I would like of one that copy the entire partition, like dc3dd ou dd, to no waste time reconfiguring everything after restoring, but it shoud be without include the free space together with the backup. (I don't know no one how do this....)

What is really missed on Linux, is a prrofessional photoshop version.  I also use Dreamweaver CC 2015 on pc, but not tried brackets yet on linux.

i think Pinta would be perfect >  lightweighte , not complicated for new users , familiar interface to people comming from windows , modern compared to MsPaint from windows : layers management.
for experimented users can add gimp or other profesional tools from the store.
