Maybe you can try to upgrade your GPU driver?
@planet clicker You may have a corrupted PRAM/NVRAM or SMC. Resetting the PRAM/NVRAM (Parameter RAM/Non-Volatile RAM) and SMC (System Management Controller) can sometimes fix strange display behavior, including screen flickering.
- To reset the PRAM/NVRAM: Shut down your Mac, then hold down Option + Command + P + R for about 20 seconds while it starts up.
- To reset the SMC: The steps will vary depending on your MacBook model. For recent MacBook Pros with a T2 chip, shut down your Mac, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, then release and restart.
Hello,
Software Issues:
Display Settings: Check your display settings. Go to System Preferences > Displays and ensure the refresh rate is set correctly for your display.
Software Updates: Make sure macOS is up to date. Sometimes, bugs are fixed in newer updates.
Reset NVRAM/PRAM: Restart your Mac and hold down Option + Command + P + R keys right after the startup chime. Hold them for about 20 seconds to reset the NVRAM, which can fix display-related issues.
External Devices: securespend
Disconnect External Monitors: If you have an external monitor connected, try disconnecting it to see if the problem persists.
Peripheral Issues: Sometimes, peripherals (like keyboards or mice) can cause unexpected behavior. Disconnect any unnecessary peripherals to check if they might be causing the issue.
Graphics Driver Issues
Safe Mode: Boot your Mac in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key during startup. This will prevent unnecessary software from loading. If the flickering stops in Safe Mode, it might be a software issue.
Resetting SMC: Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) by following the instructions specific to your Mac model. This can sometimes resolve power-related issues.
Hardware Issues:
Display Cable: A loose or damaged display cable can cause flickering. If you're comfortable, you can check the internal connections, but this usually requires opening the laptop, which should be done by a professional if you're unsure.
Faulty Display: If the issue persists, there may be a problem with the display itself. Consider getting it checked by an authorized service provider.

Hello. I've noticed every once in a while, my screen will flash black really quickly on and off. It appears to mostly happen when I close my Macbook Pro and then open it again, or when I log in to my computer. If I restart my computer or close the lid and log back in, it usually stops flashing. Any ideas as to what could be causing this bug? Has anyone else seen this? Thanks.
