For some reason, DDE can't afford multiple opened windows!
As you can see when you select one of the opened windows, an ghost layer of that application appears behind the visible window which cannot interact with the mouse but the ghost one can.
To solve this, I have to scroll up on the active application icon at the dock and then I select a window.
