Yes, but people consider Google Analytics very invasive (yes I understand it is not technically an invasion of privacy). Why do you need to use a similar service and what data do you collect? How do you specifically use that data to improve the experience of users in a significant way?

Hi Deepin friends, just a further question on this topic of Data Collection.

I have not seen any reference, though there might be elsewhere, about the Data that Deepin collects and stores and how the issue of the European General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) affects the operation of these Forums and the data that is collected by the operation of the Deepin OS.

Have you discussed the ramifications? Do you understand how you might be affected by these Regulations even if you are not directly living or working in Europe?
From my readings, and I do have sites that are covering people in Europe so I have to comply even though I live in Australia, for the people that live in Europe and are members of the Deepin Forums, you are holding their Personal Data. That means you - Deepin - have to comply with the GDPR or have the risk of being targeted by the European authorities. What that form of targeting might be I have no idea. But I believe that you will have to research just what needs to be done to comply with this new Regulation.

I am from Brazil and here we usually use the following phrase: Nail that stands out more, takes more blow. I rely more on Deepin than on Google, Facebook or any other USA product and derivatives. I met other distros, such as: Elementary OS, Ubuntu, Zorin and MInt, but not Linux Deepin exchange for any of them. Deepin's work is very good, independent. Congratulations to Deepin and continue on the road, because the ones that stand out more, is what are most seen and many will try to get you out of the way.
