I use manjaro deepin and recently after an update, i am facing issue with the interface.
1. The desktop is black after login. Immediately after login, I see the wallpaper, but it goes away in 2-3 seconds.
2. Minimize, maximize functions don't work on any application window.
3. Application windows cannot be dragged around the screen.
4. None of the running applications icons show up in the task bar.

Could someone please help with this issue?

I thought it was an issue with Manjaro (initially there was with booting), so I wrote there as well: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/manjaro-wont-load-dm-after-system-update/40032/13

Please let me know if anymore details are needed from me.

apt-get command not found. Do I need to use pacman instead?

Yes,the correct command for you is: sudo pacman -Syu
apt-get is only available for Debian based distributions while Manjaro is Arch based which has pacman.

When I run that command, it says everything is up to date, there is nothing to do. What should I do now?

Run "sudo pacman -S dde"
That will reinstall the already up to date Deepin programs.
Probably that will fix the  problem.
If not,things will get a bit more complicated but don't give up too fast.
Try that first and if it doesn't work,say it here and I will tell you the next fix method.

Then the group name is deepin.
Try again with: sudo pacman -S deepin

Thank you for your quick rpely.

I ran the command and got this message:
  1. looking for conflicting packages...
  2. :: deepin-desktop-schemas and deepin-desktop-schemas-manjaro are in conflict. Remove deepin-desktop-schemas-manjaro? [y/N]
Copy the Code

I pressed y, and got this:
  1. error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
  2. :: manjaro-deepin-settings: removing deepin-desktop-schemas-manjaro breaks dependency 'deepin-desktop-schemas-manjaro'
Copy the Code

I haven't tried pressing "n". Shall I try that?

It seems to be a bit more complicated here because Manjaro has some modified versions of Deepin packages.
But yes,try it with n and hope that it will reinstall the already installed original Deepin packages anyway.

You can do it by specifying every single deepin program.
To save time,I will write the command only for those which were really updated.
When it asks you if you want to reinstall,you have to type Y.
sudo pacman -S deepin-dock deepin-file-manager deepin-qt5integration deepin-qt5dxcb-plugin dtkwidget dtkwm

I ran the command and it reinstalled all 6 components. But desktop is still all black and minimize, maximize don't work.
Could this be something to do with graphic card?
I have video-hybrid-intel-nouveau-bumblebee installed.

Also, I ran sudo dde-dock and I see errors like this:
  1. QWidget::setMinimumSize: (MainPanel/MainPanel) Negative sizes (-60,49) are not possible
Copy the Code

and warning like this:
  1. (dde-dock:3542): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "adwaita",
  2. "dtkwidget2" can not find qm files
  3. "dde-dock" can not find qm files
Copy the Code

Could this be related?

I don't think that this errors have something to do with the graphics drivers but not every error causes the whole program not to work.
So probably the graphics driver is the problem while the other errors can be ignored.
Try using the open source drivers and tell me if it works them.
Sometimes they don't perform that good in games but they have much better compatibility.

Hi nipos, thank you for working with me on this.

The video-hybrid-intel-nouveau-bumblebee is an open source driver only (as it shows in the  manjaro settings manager)

Did you install mesa-git from the unofficial repo?

Sorry,I can't give you more help.
When a complete reinstall of the Deepin programs,as you did it,doesn't help,I don't know what else could help.
You could try a complete system reinstall but that's always the last step.
Probably someone else knows how to fix it so I recommend waiting longer.
