Failed to start light display manager

hi, i recently rebboted my laptop and realised it was stuck on the logo i clicked escape and saw abnch of suff most were ok and failed was the light display manager, and then a start job is running for hold until boot process finishes up, so i was hoping i could get some help so that i can boot into it properly. thanks

Press Ctrl-Alt-F2 and login with you username and password, Then:
  1. journalctl -x --this-boot |grep -i lightdm
Copy the Code

Post the output here.

Ctrl-Alt-F2 means pressing Ctrl, Alt and F2 at tthe same time.

This is really weird. Maybe you can try Ctrl-Alt-F3 ?
Or, can you remember any operation done to your computer before this problem happens ?

i just updated some files and then it started to lag abit and freeze so i restarted and thats how i got here

so i decided to reinstall the os and recreate the what caused the error and i found out that as i tried to install team veiwer version 11 it was deleting system files which was the strangest thing ive ever encountered but thats what caused the issue

When you upgrade something, you'd better check the detail of the list which shows the applications will be removed.
And try to check the log files under /var/log/ to get what it happened.

it happened to me when instaled something without success, then run the apt autoremove -f

i install gdb today,same things happens.I cannot login light  manager failed and daemon service failed also.bad things that I cannot stay more than 5s when I was in the recovery more.

I have the same problem. When I click on Display icon, it does nothing. I am able to use the system but can not change anything with the display.
