How to get rid of the title bar or make it thinner in any app window? Here is a screenshot of Opera-stable in Deepin 15.5?The top bar s very wide. You can see it just above the tabs.

This works for me https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/DevilsPie
with a rule like this: (if (is (window_class) "Opera") (undecorate))
Just checked it,it works & looks pretty good tbh.

If you guys read the OP properly, you'd see the words "in any app". The screenshot is given as an example.
The question is, how to get rid of the caption title bar in ANY application window?

It is NOT about Opera or Chrome or any special application. The caption title bar is too wide. I would like to know, which file has to be changed get it done, either to undecorate or make it thinner. In KDE or XFCE4, there is an ability to undecorate, for example.

That was just an example, my dear friend, just to keep you going.
If you pay more attention to want i send you, you'll realize that it can be applied more globally, with a regex perhaps.

It doesn't work.
A workaround can be done by changing the themes. But can't get rid of the top bar anyway.

Well...that's strange, 'cause if i use something like:
mkdir -p ~/.devilspie && echo -e '(if (matches "" ".*") (undecorate ))\n(debug)' > ~/.devilspie/undecorate-my-windows.ds && devilspie &
in terminal, none of the windows i open, that previously had a title bar, retain it anymore.
What is the debug information for you. Is devilspie working properly?

ps: If you insist on modifying files, maybe you should take a look at the metacity xml files from the theme currently in use.

It would be nice, if this (Undecorate) would be there as default. I never knew about devilspie before. It is not maintained any more.

The continuation of devispie is devilspie2 i think. It has different writting of rules and a few other differences i can't remember right now.
Yes i agree, with the integration of a setting like this, and even more with the integration of the window controls inside any application. But i understand something like that doesn't have to do only with the deepin os. As far as deepins family applications window controls are integrated with the apps.

This problem is there in Kubuntu and Mate too. In Kubuntu, the undecorate option is available on right click on the top bar in any app, while in Mate it is not there. This devilspie app works in Kubuntu. I haven't tried it in Mate (I don't have it.)
