I'm trying to install Deepin on 128gb sandisk micro sd card. The Deepin installer does not show the sd card at all. The card is formatted to fat32 on gpt partition. I've tested the card with several other Linux os's. The computer itself recognises it, Deepin is the only os that does not show the sd card. Even in failsafe mode. I've also tried to mount the device from the terminal too. No luck. The computer I'm using is a Dell Venue 11 Pro. I've tried to install it in legacy and uefi mode. I previously had Deepin running on a 32gb sd card on the same computer a month ago, but I ran out of space. I really want to stick with Deepin, so any help is appreciated!

Thanks for your feedback.
Could you detail the steps to install deepin on 128gb sandisk micro sd card?
What kind of way do you choose to install deepin?
Does this webpage help?https://www.deepin.org/en/installation/

Maybe formatting it to Ext4 will help a little.

https://bbs.deepin.org/user/35000 I appreciate such a rapid response! Thank you! I made a bootable USB using Deepin boot maker from one of my other computer. Then I used the one time boot menu to select the uefi(the first time) boot. Once I reached the installation screen, typed in the appropriate info and selected a time zone. When I got to the part where you select a device to install it on, the menu options is blank. There is no device visible to click to actually install Deepin on. This true for legacy boot as well.

https://bbs.deepin.org/user/88189 Thanks for the advice, unfortunately, I tried with the card formatted to ext4 and ext3....no luck.

I've done a little more research on this issue and this is what I found:

I went into failsafe mode and used the terminal to typed
  1. sudo dmesg | tail
Copy the Code
Here are the results.

If anyone could tell me what this mean or how to fix it would be a huge help. Again, apreciate all the help from everyone!

@melodyzou  https://bbs.deepin.org/user/31802  I did some more digging on the internet and came across my exact problem. Here's the link: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1514821
I don't completely understands what they are talking about in this forum, but I thought it may help. Again, appreciate all your help!

You can try the solution provided by http://www.0xf8.org/2016/01/work ... rnel-version-4-1-8/
First try following commands:
  1. rmmod sdhci sdhci_pci sdhci_acpi
  2. modprobe sdhci debug_quirks2="0x0x10000"
  3. modprobe sdhci_pci
Copy the Code

If it works, try to create a .conf file in /etc/modprobe.d/ (with an arbitary name, saying "99-customize.conf"), and put the following line in it:
  1. options sdhci debug_quirks2="0x0x10000"
Copy the Code

Save the .conf file and reboot.

https://bbs.deepin.org/user/52935 Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, neither one of these solutions worked. The os is not installed on the sd, because the sd is not visible during installation, so I’ve been working in failsafe mode from a bootable usb trying to figure out why it is not visible during installation. Every time I reboot the device, all of my changes are reset. Again, thanks for your help. This is the weirdest problem I’ve ever ran into with Linux distro.
