I've switched back to my Corsair M65 mouse and would like to include it in this workaround because it has the same problem.

No reply. So I'll just start trying things and hope one of them works.
Anyway, using a Corsair keyboard added 40 seconds to the boot time. I manged to fix this by changing and updating grub as shown below.
"GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="usbhid.quirks=0x1B1C:0x1B11:0x20000000 quiet splash"
