Hello. You can get to setting by clicking the white and red gear icon on the dockor by moving your cursor to the bottom lower right corner of the screen, which will bring up the settings menu. And once you are in the settings, go to System Information (second from the bottom) setting and then click on updates or check for updates. That should do it.

Would'nt it be easier to just place it under launcher....?

The white with red gear icon on the the dock is the settings launcher. Seems fine to me. Glad you were able to update.
