Hi,

I've a got the problem that Deepin crash randomly on my packardbell easynote. The only solution for me is to turn off manually my computer. If someone can help me, I don't want to return on windows anymore since I'v installed Deepin.

Here's the configuration:
ENLG71BM-P096

Deepin : 15.1
System: 64 bit
Processor: Intel Pentium quad core processor N3540 (up to 2.66 Ghz)
Intel HD Graphics
4 GB DD3 L Memory

Regards.

Hi everyone,

First of all, thank your all for your help.

In your applications you can click on Driver Manager
It will show if there is any proprietary microcode firmware drivers that you can enable
But that probable will not fix random crash problem.

here is a link for packardbell on bios/firmware Keep in mind a failed bios update can permanently can cause computer not to work at all.
I think this is your model from what you listed in post.

http://www.packardbell.com/pb/en/GB/content/download

I see the link is not going to right location but you can navigate from Notebook to EasyNote and to EN LG71BM
and then to BIOS/Firmware

It does not look to me like the BIOS updates addressed anything that important.
It best not do change unless you really now what your doing !

At the moment the only other thing I would check system resources.
You can click System Monitor in your applications and then click resources
Then you can monitor cpu history and memory history
To check if there is something abdnormal

I've checked the CPU history and the Memory History by opening the System Monitor and the system crash when the CPU was around at 20% and the Memory too.

Okay so no real indication there. You could look at Processes to see if something abnormal at idle time.
The good news is that if it crashed at 20% is was not due to insufficient hardware.
and what is cpu usage at idle time ?

Test your hardware with http://www.stresslinux.org or some other live cd. If nothing comes up, then you know, something is wrong with your copy of deepin.

Dance707, the CPU is normal at idle time, no spikes appear.

I've installed the Fedora version to see if it's my version of deepin creates this problem, and the result is the same. Very strange. Maybe because I've installed the x64 version. I try to download the x86 version of Deepin to test it.

Hi Dance707,

Yes, I'm using a swap partition.

Well I think you have tried a lot of things. and same problem on 2 completely different versions of Linux.
And also the 32bit version. This all points to problems with your Easynote It is beyond the scope of this forum to get in to how to diagnose and repair your computer. But two common things to check are memory and disk.

Xfce is much lighter than Fedora's Gnome or Deepin's Gnome based DDE  But we have users in this forum that run Deepin 15.1 with no problem in notebooks.
So that is very strange. Did you get a response back from Deepin User Feedback ?

No. Some users have suggested to me to test my memory or my CPU. That's all.

But I'm agree with you: it's very very strange. Maybe something doesn't work with a firmware, especially with my CPU. The problem is that when I try to update my CPU's firmware with Deepin, I've got a message error (404). I suppose that the firmware is not available on the Deepin server.

The style of xfce is so old compared to Deepin, it's just a torture for my eyes and my brain...

Earlier today the Servers were busy with large update. But you already posted a screen shot of your cpu intel-microcode firmware update as being done. What method are you using now to try to update firmware ?
My thought is that the your Easynote  either has some problems and it does not show up yet in xfce or your Easynote does not like the other display managers
