Deepin is now based on 'Debian testing' so it is of course playing hard-mode to use it as a daily dr ...

Deepin is based of frozen Debian Sid (Unstable) packages not from Testing. That doesn't mean that it's unstable in any way. In fact Deepin team makes extensive tests before releasing. Currently most bugs are related to not yet mature DDE UI or Deepin apps and not from Debian. But they're getting there.

I guess it depends on usage, right?

IN my case, the fact that everything is so new leads me to issues when trying to sourcebuild certain things...

I went through great effort to install JDK7, correct WINE paths which are not right; and etc etc

Really I guess if your HW is fully supported and you don't depend on the OS to do source-building then you're good but if it comes to building some legacy components you can't escape doing a fkton of work no matter what where in Ubuntu you can "just do it"

So I consider any non-stable debian a testing branch

You are aware that Ubuntu "Stable" is also based of frozen Debian Sid packages, right? Anyway, in my experience Debian Sid can be much more stable than Ubuntu. In fact I find that Ubuntu has a lot of quirks that drive it quite unstable. I always got better results in hardware compatibility and performance with Debian than Ubuntu. I simply wouldn't be using Deepin if it stil was based of Ubuntu. But to each their own...

Yes but you're aware that I'm still right, and regardless of the base Ubuntu is more stable because of a larger userbase contributing to data-collection and anyway the libraries provided by Ubuntu are literally not even the same.

You're being narrow-minded to look at it and say "Same base, same OS"

Agreed, but this takes a lot of work depending on the user needs

Me too, Ubuntu has had a memory-leak since Ubu13 that has followed every distribution based on it

Me too

Me too, this is like a high-school debate where your response to me assigns an opinion to me that I didn't express.

I stopped reading on the:

I simply do not agree with you, from my personal experience, which happens to be in line with many more. If Ubuntu suits you better then please use it. But please do not suggest it would be better for Deepin. Deepin used Ubuntu before, as many others distros used it and then stopped using it and returned to Debian. There are reasons for it.

Anyway, as I said, I stopped reading so I won't comment the rest of your post. I just wish you all the best. Have a nice day.
