I have used K3b as my preferred burner for years. I wanted to use it to burn an audio disk the other day so I installed K3b into Deepin 2014.3. (Brasero is only a 2 star rating from my experiences with it). When I go to 'open' a folder is crashes. Here is the details from terminal.

  1. Could not find 'klauncher' executable.
  2. kdeinit4: Communication error with launcher. Exiting!
  3. KCrash: Application 'k3b' crashing...
  4. KCrash: Attempting to start  from kdeinit
  5. sock_file=/home/john/.kde/socket-Deepin-pc/kdeinit4__0
  6. Warning: connect() failed: : Connection refused
  7. KCrash: Attempting to start  directly
  8. KCrash failed to exec(), errno = 2
  9. Unable to start Dr. Konqi
  10. Not forwarding the crash to Apport.
Copy the Code
Any ideas on what to do are most welcome.

The deepin DE is a hybrid derived from KDE and other sources. This looks like a dependency issue. Klauncher has a history of such problems, per a Google search. Check out failure to close sockets and processes left open.

Thanks Eric. I was guessing it was a dependency issue but will poke about and see what comes up. thanks for your reply.
