I tried installing the above mentioned apps from the software centre but the download failed on the first attempt, when I tried again, the download didnt start.
I tried using terminal, error came up "package not found"
Then I  used the code "sudo apt-get update"
Then i applied the
"sudo apt-get install wine"
it worked but almost near the end, this came up

After this, the terminal become non-responsive and i had to close the terminal.
Same happened when installing empathy.
Then I restarted the machine and tried using software centre to download Wine.
The download started but It got stuck on installation.
Now if I try again this comes

the download button is unresponsve.
Following is my system information

I use Windows when I must. Wine has never worked well. Crossover seems better. Trying to make a hybrid system is more trouble than it is worth.

You can download PlayonLinux from the deepin software centre. That will bring Wine and Winetricks with it. I find Crossover is excellent, but there are a few programs that run better on PlayonLinux namely the Windows version of Steam. With Crossover, Steam works but it doesn't load the store properly (you can only get to your library). With Playonlinux it just works.
