I'm altogether new to linux and trying to install Deepin on an old computer I have that is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium.

I have downloaded the 64bit ISO from http://www.deepin.org//download.html.

I am now attempting to follow the directions found at http://wiki.deepin.org/index.php?title=Original_Installation and on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L7-EQUVDrI&feature=youtu.be.

Nevertheless, When I attemp to follow the directions on the page I am either sent by the links on the page to non-functioning web pages or to an obviously incorrect web page. See Examples Bellow.

When I click on the link Download Hash to test the MD5 value I'm sent to the following.

When I click the link that says Note: deepin downloadMD5 value for all versions are available. I'm sent to the following.

Then there is the following instructions which I have know idea what it is saying. Make Startup Disk
[edit]

deepin team has developed cross-platform startup disk maker, you can use it to make startup disk. deepin mirror has covered the startup disk maker. You can find it in deepin mirrror or click for download. I click on the download link it takes me to a page that I assume is writen in Chinese which I do not read and no option to translate it into English is available.

I can't get any further in following the instructions if I cannot understand the instructions up to this point or the links you provide take me to useless webpages.

You can try using the program on the following website to check the MD5 hash rather than what the Deepin team linked:

http://code.kliu.org/hashcheck/

Once Hashcheck is installed, find the downloaded Deepin ISO, right-click it, select "roperties," then look under the "Checksums" tab for the MD5 value.

If you downloaded the 64-bit ISO, the MD5 hash should be 036dda2007b0bf325b97ab3e0fe4a85a

I believe the "startup disk" part of that wiki article is some kind of software that allows you to create a LiveUSB of the installation, but that's not necessary to do; it just makes the installation a bit faster. If the MD5 hash matches, you can just burn the ISO to a DVD and continue the installation.
