Is Steam on Linux still far behind Steam on Windows? I've never used either?

Just because a distribution platform is working on a new os it is not said their are good software companies out there to put good games and a critical mass of games to linux.
I would not trust steam on linux I use it on windows a lot but games for windows are working since Windows 95. We have so many game studios out thair working on windows games sice years and there is a great support by hardware vendors as well so your question should be Is any hardware vendor willing to put enough money in linux based development to push gaming on linux?
I bet you know the answer ?
In Short. If you have time and you are willing to figure out where bugs are coming from steam is worth it. if niot just go out and buy a mac inf you like linux really much.

I'm not buying a Mac for anything other than better understand Mac OSX. That will still be a while. I don't care for gaming enough to put that much effort into it either. If something in Steam doesn't work, "on to the next one."
